"Great all encompassing Spirit,
In the knowledge of Thy being is world-knowledge,
Which is to grow mine.
Thou art.
I will unite my soul with Thee.
May Thine appointed Guide
enlighten my way.
Feeling Thine appointed Guide
may I tread the path of life.
He is in the Life-Sun;
He lived in my longing;
I will accept His Being
into mine.
Thou art.
May my strength receive
the strength of Thine appointed Guide within it.
Blissfulness enters me -
the bliss wherein the soul discovers Spirit.
Thou art."

This is for people who have always wanted to listen (or download) Shine On You Crazy Diamond in full.
All nine parts of Shine On You Crazy Diamond, which is one of the greatest pieces of music made. This composition was a tribute to former band member, Syd Barrett. Written and performed by Roger Waters, David Gilmour and Richard Wright. From the album "Wish You Were Here".
Lyrics:
(Parts I-V)
Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom,
blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway laughter,
come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine!
You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision,
rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver, you seer of visions,
come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!
(Parts VI-IX)
Nobody knows where you are, how near or how far.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Pile on many more layers and I'll be joining you there.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
And we'll bask in the shadow of yesterday's triumph,
sail on the steel breeze.
Come on you boy child, you winner and loser,
come on you miner for truth and delusion, and shine.

Man, this is a great show. There are barely any mistakes, and the band is on point this night - especially for playing so late. This performance has one of my favorite performances of Echoes of all time. Dark Side of the Moon is also great this night.
And yes, I understand that some people have this date labeled as March 18th because they started playing at about 1:00 in the morning, but I’ve chosen to label it for the 17th, since that is when the show was originally supposed to take place.
This date is also interesting because the Floyd themselves have confirmed that they have a multi-tracked SBD for this show in their archives. (Release it!!)
**Mastering Notes:**
Recorder 1 is very ambient-sounding; the taper must have been sitting far back from the stage. However, it compliments the other recorders very well, being that the other two are closer to the stage - and are more direct-sounding. It was pretty muffled at first, so I gave it a boost in the highs.
Recorder 2 was plagued with multiple issues, such as channel dropouts and wow and flutter issues. Unfortunately, when the dropouts occur, there is almost always no information on the other channel, making it impossible to repair the stereo image. In this case, it folds down to mono - only using the intact channel. This recorder also suffers from excessive skipping/flutter. I tried fixing this, but to no avail; it seems impossible to fix.
The quality of recorder 2 also degrades by quite a bit during Any Colour You Like, so I felt it was best to leave it out completely. I’d be more than happy to make a revised version if better sources end up surfacing.

JEMS is thrilled to partner with Rob, Jim R and Barry to release Millard's historic recordings and to help set the record straight about the man himself. It has been 25 years since Mike passed away and his legend only continues to grow. Along with the tapes, Rob also had a copy of Mike’s tape list circa 1983, which details all his master tapes including his own quality rating system: Stereo-EX, Stereo-Good, Stereo-Fair and Stereo-Poor. He was a tough critic of his own work: the outstanding recording of the Rod Stewart and Faces 1975 show at the Forum only rated Good.
We can’t thank Rob S enough for reconnecting with Jim and putting his trust in our Millard reissue campaign. He has kept these precious tapes under wraps for two decades, but once he learned of our methods and stewardship, he agreed to contribute his DATs and cassettes to the program.
Our production support team also deserves credit. Thanks to Goody for giving this his stamp of pitch approval and to mjk5510 for his essential work on all JEMS projects. We can’t do it without you.
Finally, cheers to the late, great Mike the MICrophone, Jared Houser and Stan Gutoski. May they rest in peace. Can’t wait to hear the heaven tapes someday.
BK for JEMS
